Looking to straighten your smile, but don't want to wear metal wires or traditional braces? Our team is proud to offer Invisalign® clear aligners in Calgary NW for both teens and adults!
Whether you're an adult or a teenager, we can help you achieve the smile you want. Get in touch with us and see which procedure is right for you.
Invisalign is an alternative solution to traditional orthodontic technologies, such as braces.
Braces use a system of brackets and wires (usually metal, but sometimes ceramic to be more discrete) to straighten your teeth. Occasionally these braces are even placed on the back or “lingual” side of your teeth
Invisalign, on the other hand, uses a series of clear plastic aligners to do the job instead. These aligners apply gentle pressure to the teeth and gradually move the teeth into the desired position.
Every two weeks, the aligners are swapped for the next set in the sequence. This ensures a consistent level of pressure throughout the course so that the teeth keep moving properly.
First off, the aligners are clear. This allows you to continue your day-to-day activities without feeling like people can notice you're straightening your smile.
Invisalign aligners are also removable. For patients with busy schedules or important events coming up, this treatment can provide the added convenience versus traditional wires and brackets.
There are no special dietary requirements like there are with traditional braces. There are no special cleaning instructions. You eat, brush, and floss just as you normally would. Once you’re done, simply pop the aligners back in and you’re good to go.
You will begin with a consultation with our dentists to discuss eligibility for the treatment, and they will take digital scans of your teeth.
The Invisalign digital scans allow us to plan and show you the entire course of treatment during your consultation. This simulation is a highly accurate, if not quite 100%, representation of what will happen to your actual teeth with the aligners in place. Both the scan and the plan are sent away for the manufacturing process to begin on the aligners themselves.
A few weeks later, and your first series of aligners will arrive and we will demonstrate how to care and use them to achieve the best results possible.
